Hormonal Health

Hormones affect nearly every system in your body -- your mood, your cycle, your sleep, and your energy. When they fall out of balance, the effects can be significant. Dr. Rodriguez and his team offer thorough evaluations and personalized treatment for hormone-related conditions.

What is hormonal health?

Hormonal health refers to the balance of chemical messengers that regulate your body. Female sex hormones -- estrogen and progesterone -- fluctuate naturally throughout your cycle and across life stages. For some women, these fluctuations produce symptoms severe enough to interfere with daily life.

Hormone-related conditions we treat

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

PMDD causes severe depression, anxiety, and irritability in the week before your period. Unlike typical PMS, PMDD significantly impairs daily functioning. Symptoms typically resolve within a few days of your period starting, but the cycle repeats every month.

Postpartum Depression

After childbirth, hormone levels drop sharply, which can trigger depression, sadness, and difficulty bonding with your baby. Postpartum depression is common and treatable -- it is not a personal failing, and you do not have to manage it alone.

Perimenopausal Mood Disorder

In the years leading up to menopause, fluctuating sex hormones can cause mood swings, low-level depression, and anxiety. Many women do not realize these symptoms are hormonal in origin.

General Hormonal Imbalance

Irregular periods, unexplained weight changes, chronic fatigue, low libido, and poor sleep can all be signs of hormonal imbalance. Blood work and a thorough evaluation help identify what is off and how to address it.
